Interior Architecture Master Program gives education under the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. The candidates of Interior Architecture Master program (who are undergraduates of Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Landscape Design and City and Regional Planning) are required to make research in interior design practices and discourses.
The main aim of the program is to conduct original researches into the problems of interior architecture through scientific analysis and to specialize in theoretical and practical knowledge while considering the contemporary discourses of the field.
There are three TRACKS under Interior Architecture Master Program: A. RITM -RESTORATION, INTERVENTION, TRANSFORMATION, MODIFICATION- IN INTERIORS; B. DESIGN AND CULTURE; C. ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES. Please click here for more information.
Students need to complete 121 credits, minimum 8 courses and master thesis. 4 of these 8 courses are compulsory courses while the other 4 are elective courses. Students are required to produce conceptual projects and to complete elective courses in accordance with their chosen track. In addition to the elective courses of interior architecture program, the student can also select courses from other programs (e.g. Architecture Program).
If a student has an undergraduate degree from different disciplines other than Interior Architecture or Architecture, s/he must apply to one-year or one-semester scientific preparation program, constituted of undergraduate courses. Interior Architecture Master Program accepts undergraduates of national universities and of international universities which are recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
The language of education is English. Students have to complete the program in four semesters. They can get an additional 2-semester extension at maximum.
Graduates of this program, which gives a degree of Msc in Interior Architecture can apply doctoral programs. Therefore the program is an important stage not only for supporting the researches of interior architecture profession but also for the process of academic career.
