Arif Can Aysan
He was born in 1971 in İzmir. He attended secondary school in İzmir Saint Joseph and high school in İzmir Tevfik Fikret High School. In 1994, he graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Industrial Design. He completed his master’s degree at İzmir Institute of Technology. He has designed many products since his graduation. Since 1996, he has been teaching design, technical drawing and computer aided design at Dokuz Eylül University, İzmir Institute of Technology, İzmir University of Economics, Yaşar University. In 2008 he established his own company. In addition to product designs in sectors such as electronic products, medical devices, packaging, communication, urban furniture, home appliances, lighting, yacht design, technical consultancy and architectural visualization in large scale architectural projects.

Aylin Gazi Gezgin
In 2007, she graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture. Between 2008 and 2010, she took part in research and development studies on sustainable housing in a research and technology development company within the Technopark area of Izmir Institute of Technology. In 2011, she received her master’s degree in kinetic architecture from the Department of Architecture, İzmir Institute of Technology and her doctorate in 2017 in the same field. Since 2010, she has been working in state institutions.

Burcu Parlak
Burcu YAZGAN PARLAK was graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 1997. She worked as a project partner in an architectural firm in Izmir between 1997-2004. She worked in various applications and workshops in Milan and founded her own interior design company designing hotel, home-office projects, stores, interiors, shopping mall, fastfood chain, concept projects and applications, product design and manufacturing. Between 2010 and 2016, she worked as a clerk in the Board of Directors of TMMOB Chamber of Interior Architects Izmir Branch.

Cengiz Ultav
Cengiz Ultav is a member of ETMK (Industrial Designers Professional Organization) and has worked as a wood workshop chief and industrial product designer. Since 2010, he has been carrying out interior design and application studies in various scales and typologies in his atelier where he is the founder partner.

Ceren Polat
Ceren Polat has worked in various interior architecture offices. Between 2007-2018, she worked as a full-time instructor at Yaşar University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. Since 2018, she has been working at the same department as a part time lecturer.

Derya Nüket Özer
She was graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Archeology and Art History. She worked as editor and writer in YAPI Culture and Architecture Magazine and coordinated the Virtual Architecture Museum project (archmuseum.org) for Building and Information Center (YEM) in 2003. In the same years, as a member of the Sulukule Platform, she volunteered to stop the urban transformation project in the Sulukule district in Istanbul and focused especially on concrete and abstract issues. In 2007, she got her master’s degree in virtual museums.

Egemen Tamcı
Born in 1989 in Izmir, Egemen Tamcı received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design and minor in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 2012 from Izmir University of Economics. After graduation, he worked briefly on illustration, then went to Rome to complete his master’s degree in ED Food Design ’at IED. While studying, he had the opportunity to work with important food brands and designers who created the Food Design manifesto in Italy. In order to continue his experience and career on this subject, he established his own studio in Izmir in 2014 with his own brand. In addition, with the brand he established at the same time with his studio, he began to provide services to major brands on architectural visualization. In order to better understand and research consumer behavior by adopting user-oriented design, he completes his second master’s degree in Marketing and Brand Management at Ege University and continues his studies in this field.

Emin Özgür Özakın
Özakın graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1993. He completed his master’s degree in 1997 and his PhD in 2011 from Bilkent Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department. He lectures as a part-time lecturer at Yaşar University.

Ertan Demirkan
Ertan Demirkan received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Product Design from Middle East Technical University (1998) and his Master’s degree in Furniture and Decoration Education from Gazi University (2004). He is currently a PhD candidate in Industrial Design at Istanbul Technical University. After his graduation, he worked in a private architecture company and worked as a designer in many architectural, interior and decoration projects of different scales. In 2003, he established his own design and consultancy company in Ankara. He was in the USA between 2016-2018 and continued his doctoral research. He has awards and participation in various national and international design competitions and has 2 patents.

Fulya Nilgün Ballı
After graduating from Bilkent University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design in 2003, she went to Brisbane, Australia and participated in the seven-month program Interior Technologies at Southbank Institute of TAFE Collage. After moving to Istanbul in 2005, she worked as the site manager and project coordinator for a brand’s stores. In 2007, they established their own workshops with Interior Architect İliç Kırtaş. They carried out dozens of projects and construction sites especially in the old buildings in the Beyoğlu region. Since settling in Izmir in early 2015, she has been working on interior architecture projects.

Hasan Can Külahcıoğlu
After graduating from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture in 1998, he worked in a company that established electrical, sanitary and hygiene systems for construction in America. After 2001, he took part in various interior design projects (hospital, hotel, private and residential projects) in İzmir. In 2012, he completed his thesis on İç Historical Process of Regional Interior Design in Aegean Region in Izmir University of Economics, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Design Studies.

İdil Orlin Pontremoli
Pontremoli works as an interior architect in the areas of corporate identity, visual arrangement, store design and residential design. After working in various positions in the United States for 10 years, she returned to Izmir and now she is a freelance interior designer. She has been working at Yaşar University since 2011 as a part time lecturer.

Işık Örsel İmir
She was born in 1975 in Ankara. After completing her secondary and high school education at Yükseliş Private College, she started her undergraduate education in 1993 at Bilkent University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. She started her master’s degree in Industrial Design at Middle East Technical University in 1998 and completed her studies in May 2011. She worked as an interior architect in different companies in Ankara. She worked with Architect Ragıp Buluç for two and a half years. In 2004, she took part in the 5-star hotel project and construction site in Antalya. In the same year, she moved to Izmir and worked in the fields of wood manufacturing and furniture design. Since 2006, she has been working as a freelance in the fields of project, design and application in home, villa, cafe, restaurant and hotel projects. In September 2013, she started to work as a lecturer at Yaşar University.

Mahmut Haluk Tatari
He was born in 1975 in İzmir. After graduating from Izmir Saint-Joseph College, he studied Landscape Architecture at Bilkent University, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments for one year and went to England where he studied 3D-Design at University of Kent, Instute of Art and Design. After his military service, he established his own office in Izmir and has been carrying out the same business since 2001. General working areas include renovation of offices, villas, residences and flats, design and production of furniture specific to the project, interior design of sailing boats, kitchens and bathrooms, antique maintenance and repairs.

Öget Nevin Cöcen Efthymiou

She completed her doctorate in Aristotle University Engineering Faculty Sustainability Department. During this period, Öget established her Architecture office. Since 2011, she has been continuing her academic studies as well as independent architectural services through European Union COST projects. C25: Sustainability of Constructions and TD1406 ‘Innovation in Intelligent Management of Heritage Buildings’. She was a board member of Energy Cities on behalf of the Mayor of Bornova and a member of the Association of Historic Cities.




Rena Vanlı Ballar
In 1995, she graduated from the University of Tennessee, Department of Architecture. She worked in architectural and interior design firms in Tennessee, Atlanta and Izmir and gained experience in workplace, shopping mall lobby and furniture projects. She has been working in her own company since 2008. Vanlı Ballar works as a part-time lecturer in İzmir.

Tuğba Turan Fidanboy
Tuğba Turan completed her high school education at İzmir Türk Koleji. She graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1999. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from Pace University. She is a faculty member as a part-time lecturer at Yaşar University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design.

Zeynep Bavunoğlu
She was born in 1982 in İzmir. She completed her secondary and high school education in Buca Anatolian High School. In 2000, she started her undergraduate education in Izmir Institute of Technology, Department of Architecture. Then, she completed her Master’s Degree in Architecture at the same university. During this period, she worked as a Research Assistant at Yaşar University. In 2015, she completed her Ph.D. in Architecture at Izmir Institute of Technology. She is specialized in Construction and Project Management and has publications in both national and international journals. She worked in many universities in Istanbul and Izmir as a lecturer. As of 2019-2020 academic year, she started to work as a part-time instructor at Yaşar University.
